Settled in the outskirts of Rajaramnagar, Sangli. The residence comes along with an already existing ground structure was to be retained. The main concept was to do a spatial design scrutinizing the holy tree and thus sit out spaces were formulated around it. Considering the design constraints, the house is proposed as a blend of structural elements that add to the eminence of façade design. Rich mahogany wood, grey Kota stone, and vapor matte finish paint make up the house’s material palette, giving the interior of the building a subtle mellow vibe with a modern twist.

The design guidelines required a contemporary approach to interiors that fostered luxury and leisure. The ground floor’s design incorporates a blend of contemporary art and ethnic decor. Instead of using heavy furniture, use of sleek furniture to make the space look enormous and enhance the classic ambience of the location.

The area next to the entrance was meticulously constructed around the house’s sacred umber tree, which has been preserved for generations, and is based on the countryside seating concept used in urban arenas. The main goal was to make the best use of the area around the tree in order to upgrade it.

The living room, dining room, and other common areas on the ground floor all had moderate color schemes. The load-bearing structure followed a very low lintel level than usual and thus the use of full height wooden planks on the doors and windows were used as element highlighters. Ambient lighting is incorporated with the use of upside down wall washers for setting the mood, also the use of warm lighting and cove lighting in the ceiling makes the interiors of the house a sumptuous one. Since it was recognized that the dining area was smaller, a full-height mirror wall was used to create the illusion that the room is wider
